available to our staff online, that would be optimal. If the synchronization between the desktop and the live version were seamless with all the contacts, sales opportunities, histories, etc. So the Office Live Essentials suite looks great for our purposes since it is online so we can log on from anywhere. but perhaps limited compared to the desktop version since we will be attaching Word documents, etc. We were looking at the add-on for drip marketing. It needs to be able to perform drip marketing. Our small 5 person company needs a contact manager that we can all access from our home or on the road. Anyways, I already have and use Outlook, just not with BCM. Outlook 2007 with BCM seems looks clean and functional.

But I do not want to load the bloatware program on my notebook. I traditionally have used ACT! as my contact manager. I currently have an older version of Outlook and a fairly new Thinkpad notebook. It is actually a little difficult to find out how much integration there actually is without purchasing them. I second the motion to have best possible integration/synchronization between Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager and Office Live Business Contact Manger. I realize this is kind of complex, but I figured I'd throw it at the end of this post. takes care of most of the data.Īn additional wish is that project tasks can be autogenerated by 'rules' that can be configured by the user. It would be nice to be able to just enter it into Outlook 2007 BCM and have it syncd up to Office Live so the client can see the updates in real time so there are no surprises when the bill arrives.Īnother wishlist feature is to have sync with Accounting Express 2007 although this really isnt that big of a deal since online billing, checking, etc. I enter my billable hours as tasks that are completed. In my case, I am using BCM projects to track patent prosecution cases. Also, the ability to share information from 'the cloud' is really nice. The more I use it, the more I want the online BCM sync so I can feel safe that data is being preserved somewhere else. I am starting to use the integration features between BCM and Accounting Express 2007. Why would they different if we are using the same email address? I think the outlook connector should simply connect and sync the BCM on Outlook 2007 with BCM on Office Live. Outlook/BCM for your own use and Outlook live as a shared work space. Currently, the information needs to be created redundantly in each location. The value to this would be significant for the more advanced user (or many users if it was made simple to integrate). The administrator would need to be able to control who could synchronize. You would need to put in an option about what type of information is synchronized with each user.

For this integration, it would include products, time and expenses, etc. This could also be used to feed information into Microsoft office accounting as well. To maximize the value, this should be done to the main database, rather then to an alternate location (e.g. This would allow for updates to be made in either outlook/BCM of office live to be reflected in the other location. I would use many of these items if they were available. This would include products, opportunities, billing information, project tracking updates, contacts, clients, etc. I would see value in being able to automatically synchronize information between office live and outlook/business contact manager.
